Lou is not the name of the lingerie's founder, rather it is the pet name the founder gave his muse and then wife. André Faller, the founder, met Lucienne on the Orient express and helped her deliver her lingerie designs to the world.

In the 1950s Lou was known for combining style and comfort, something that was rare in the 1950s and is still prized today. The French Lou, has become an emblem of French luxury lingerie.
